It's been about a month since my last entry. So much (and yet so little) has happened in that time. My only computer is dying so blogging is becoming every time less possible. Writing used to be so therapeutic and now my sessions are far and in between.
I can't concretely mention the details yet, but I wanted to share an experience that God's worked in my life in the past month.
More than 10 years ago, my then-boyfriend-husband and I realized that we shared a dream. It was a "Plan" that we never realized the other was interested in until we stumbled on some pamphlets and we discovered this common interest. We decided then and there that if God allowed, sometime in our married future we would follow through with this Plan.
We got married, went away to graduate school, had our kids, returned to ministry... yet along the 9 years of our marriage we've never forgotten our Plan. Part of the agreement for carrying out the Plan was that we wouldn't seek the Plan out. We'd wait for God to bring it to us (THAT'S how sure we were that this was a part of God's plan). We prayed about it off and on and also check in with each other to make sure that we still had interest in the Plan. All convictions remained the same. All to do was to wait.
This past week a friend of mine asked me about my Plan and offered me its reality. I immediately said no. But when I got home and told my husband about it, he asked me why I'd turned her down. "Remember all the years of praying for His timing and our commitment to this Plan?" He was right! But you know when you have a dream and you imagine planning it out with excessive time and preparation? I didn't include God's timing into the equation. It shocked my heart as i realized that I had, in fact, put conditions on my Plan. I wanted time to prepare! It's been a week since yesterday that the Plan has started to roll itself out. We are checking on the details and preparing ourselves mentally for the undertaking of a Plan that's been in its formation for the past 10 years. Now is the time to be courageous!
**Dear Reader, I hope i didn't lose you on the obvious screening of my entry. My Plan isn't ready to be revealed. But i do appreciate your prayers as my family prepares itself for the realization of this long awaited Plan.
Love,
C
