Pre-Dedication

My littlest one gets dedicated in church tomorrow. Shes 19 1/2 months old and im thrilled to my bones about it.

Dedication in our Church represents a united blessing of her life and a congregational commitment to pray for her and watch out for her.

Among the Paraguayan People the blessing or dedication in the Chuch is most familiarly associated with the Catholic Baptism. It's a most reverent and special time for the child and the parents. Even socially... For example: Today in school i made a passing comment of Alanas upcoming, next-day "baptism" and i was immediately exonerated from my daily lessons to head home and start getting ready for the event!! Of course!!!! I laughed all the way home.

So here i am on the Eve of her blessed dedication searching out a deep significance to the ancient ritual. It doesnt take me much imagination or creativity to find my inspiration. All i really have to do is look into her precious eyes, enjoy her girlie giggles, gaze upon her sleeping form... Its all there... All the perfectness of Gods goodness and love. Who in their right mind wouldnt say thank-you to the Giver of such a wonder?!

Thank You, Jesus!
